Jeremy Sancebuche, popularly known as mimiyuuuh, is more than just a rising social media star. Behind her usual comedic self stands a strong and inspiring character and that’s what I adore about her the most!

So here are 5 LIFE LESSONS I’ve learned from the OG Dalagang Pilipina:

5. Use your flaws as your strength

We’ve all felt insecure one way or another but we shouldn’t let this consume us. Instead, mimiyuuh advises that we use our flaws as our strengths. I’m not gonna lie, this is a really tough process because it will always be hard to accept yourself for the way you are but once you can come into terms with it, everything becomes easier. Besides, how can they use it against you if you treat all those “flaws” as your points of strength?

4. Life is too short, try new things!

Always wanted to sport a bob? Learn sign language? Or what about that backpacking trip you’ve been putting off for months now? Well, I’ve got 3 words for you: JUST DO IT! Life has so much to offer and it’s such a waste not to try them all. Plus, it’s always those impulsive, out of the box decisions that leave us feeling extremely happy afterward. 😀

3. #HYPEYOURSELF2019

It’s 2019 and you know what that means?? It means it’s time to stop seeking others’ approval. Give yourself motivational speeches every morning. Shower yourself with lots of love and validation because that’s exactly what you deserve. You are such a hard worker and even if other people might not know this, you know just how much time you devoted so pat yourself on the back! You’re doing great honey. <3

2. Clothes don’t have a gender
( *SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK* )

Honestly, clothes are simply a way we express ourselves and it shouldn’t be anything more than that. Wear whatever you want! Feel like strutting down the promenade in a dashing suit and tie as opposed to a sequined ball gown? GO FOR IT!

Clothes are supposed to empower you and make you feel comfortable so dress the way you want! Never feel pressured to dress a certain way simply because society dictates it. At the end of the day, it is ultimately still YOUR body anyways.

1. UKAY IS LIFE

With so many fast fashion brands dominating the industry, it is easy to fall victim to their red hot flash sales, trendy new arrivals, and seemingly cheap products. But here’s a tip: you can get all that and more in ukay-ukay stores! It’s true and several style icons swear by this (mimiyuuuh included!). According to them, ukay-ukay is a cheap way to cop fashionable pieces while also promoting sustainability. As the famous Thrift Store song goes: “One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure.”
