Avengers: Endgame Writers Want to Make…a Superman Movie?
It seems like Endgame writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus are currently stepping out of their Marvel bubble for a while after the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame. However, this doesn’t mean that the writing duo responsible for a whole chunk of the MCU are retiring anytime soon. Far from it.
The two writers spoke with Screen Rant at the San Diego Comic-Con as they were wrapping up their press run for Avengers: Endgame and they were asked which DC superhero they’d like to tackle.
“I mean, I think Captain America shows there are certainly ways to do a really good Superman movie in this day,” answered McFeely. “You don’t have to dirty him up, you don’t have to get rid of his earnestness. I’m a big — the Christopher Reeve Superman is one of my favorite movies. So that’s one we certainly borrow from all the time.”

It’s important to note that McFeely and Markus wrote all three Captain America movies as well as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame so it’s safe to say that they know their stuff.
At the moment, the Man of Steel is taking a break in the DCEU while projects like Batman and Supergirl are on their way, as well as a second Wonder Woman film.
With M&M (as fans call them) taking a break from Marvel, I wouldn’t be too surprised if they jumped the fence in the meantime to work on other superheroes.
