Harrison Ford Apparently Doesn’t Want Indiana Jones To Get A Reboot — Ever

The man who originated iconic characters Han Solo and Indiana Jones recently talked about the future of the latter on NBC’s Today. Harrison Ford admitted to Today’s host, Craig Melvin, that he didn’t think anyone else should or could take on the role of the adventurer.

Melvin broaches the subject by asking: “When you’re done with that role, who would you like to see as Indiana Jones?”. Instead of giving prospects as one would suspect, Ford replies with: “Nobody else is going to be Indiana Jones. Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones.”

Though he and the audience are all laughing, Melvin tries to confirm what he means by following up: “So when you’re gone, it’s gone?” And Ford confirms: “When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy. Get it in [your head].”

Ford then makes a final jab by saying: “This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this. I’m sorry man.” He was probably trying to joke about rumors that Chris Pratt would be taking on the role sometime in the future.

Though whether the rest of it was a joke is hard to tell. He was laughing the whole time, but Ford has also been known for his candor and his no-nonsense approach to interview questions. Watch the video below and let us know what you think:

Do you think it was just a joke or a joke with truth in it?
