The Internet Doesn’t Seem Too Happy about the ‘Cats’ Movie Trailer
By now, you must have seen the trailer for the upcoming star-studded ‘Cats’ movie. The movie is based on the hit Broadway musical of the same name and stars big names, including Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Jason Derulo, Rebel Wilson, Taylor Swift, and James Corden. Sounds amazing , doesn’t it? Before we continue, though, here is the trailer in case you haven’t seen it yet:
So, what did you think of it? If you’re a fan of the Broadway musical, is it everything you expected it to be? Did you envision it exactly that way? Or are you going to have nightmares about cats for days? Well, a lot of people have taken to social media to express their dismay about the movie.
Some are unhappy with the CGI:
Bruh the CGI is so tragic it’s just the Snapchat cat filter #CatsMovie pic.twitter.com/zvCVdKkTI7

While others have pointed out that the cats are simply too small for the massive set:

Someone insinuated that the cats look like Dr. Seuss characters:

One called them a complete ‘abomination’:
This is not a cat. This isn’t even human. This is an abomination #CatsMovie pic.twitter.com/8jDIINtBeP

Of course, they’re also talking about how the cats’ tails are coming out of their butts in this disturbing way (they also have breasts, by the way!):
ok i watched the trailer and i am laughing? sobbing? screaming?? about the tails oh my god the tails pic.twitter.com/FSDTVxu1nw

And then there’s that cat in the heels:
Why the fuck is this cat the only one wearing shoes. Heels. Somebody went and made their cat teeny tiny pumps? Would’ve been a fun wink if they were kitten heels. My brain is melting. pic.twitter.com/DnNx4VPERU

A parady account of comedian Ian Abramson even replaced the song trailer with the song from ‘Us’ because they thought it would fit better:

I’ve always found ‘Cats’ a little weird and disturbing, but that’s mostly because I was a kid when I first watched it. It’s strange how I feel like a kid all over again watching the trailer to the movie.
The ‘Cats’ movie is set to show this December. Will you be watching it?
