It’s Official: August 12 declared a holiday in observance of Eid’l Adha

A long weekend is coming!

President Rodrigo Duterte has declared August 12, 2019 a regular nationwide holiday in observance of the Eid’l Adha or the Muslim Feast of the Sacrifice.

The palace has released the Proclamation No. 789 confirming the news.

Eid’l Adha is the second most important Islamic holiday celebrated worldwide every year. It honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command, before he was stopped by Allah and provided a lamb to sacrifice instead.
