LOOK: First Few Pages of New ‘Death Note’ Manga Leaked Online
Beloved anime series Death Note is officially making a surprise comeback in 2020 after 12 years, and the first few pages have been leaked online.
A Facebook page shared a glimpse of what the new manga would look like and it’s already giving us the chills. We are introduced to a brand-new character named Minoru Tanaka, a boy who, for three years running, has been regarded as the most intelligent junior high school student in Japan. We also see a familiar face—Ryuk, the Shinigami who owned the Death Note which came into possession of Light Yagami in the original series. According to the original creators, artist Takeshi Obata and writer Tsugumi Ohba, Ryuk will now be serving Minoru this time in this new world “where Kira no longer exists.”
Check out the pages below:
The new Death Note installment will be appearing as a double-length one-shot story in the March issue of monthly manga anthology Jump Square, which goes on sale February 4, 2020.
